A lesson
Death teaches us meaning
of the word sudden —
one minute there, one minute
not —
the blackness, the blankness,
the emptiness, the silence, the void —
the most palpable, oppressing nothing
there ever was.
Big city night
oh my gosh is that a star
in bright city sky?
nope! police helicopter
Seeing $tars
Star!
Nope, rocket.
Star?
Nope, police helicopter.
Star!
Nope, corporate satellite.
Star?
Nope, airplane.
Forty-two-tick-tock
the body is a clock —
bones tick and tock
years gather in flesh
an alarm set for death
Fertilize & philosophize
Weeds —
is there really evil in their hearts
or are they simply feisty seeds —
ambitious verdant darts,
proliferous garden art?
Excite
Lightning dances —
Thunder applauds her!
