Explanatory
LIFE
is an artist insane
painting his way
with the world…
Edging out
Seasons depart peripherally.
Juggernautical chaos
do not even need
to write poem about life
title says it all
Fresh air & birdsong
An open window is good company, like the burning candle of Lichtenberg.
“Man loves company even if it is only that of a small burning candle.”
Icy gaze
owls fierce in summer
are fiercer yet in winter —
it’s mating season
Over & again
“…we are human beings who can never be born enough…”
—Ken Sekaquaptewa and Candy St. Jacques, Sahuaro, yearbook of the Associated Students of Arizona State University, 1970
Literary life
My life is — in a word — words.
Long ago now
I am searching for my feelings
through shelves of dusty books
can’t help but feel I’ve left them
in some forgotten ancient nooks
as if an author long before me
captured my emotions in his day
and saved them in fine poetry
for future me to find someway
Majesty of nature
“We can tap into the majesty of nature by noticing a single fleeting moment of beauty.”
—Christian Howard, Apple Fitness+, calm meditation, Ep96, 2022
Segue
Joyfully spring from the last breaths of summer and gracefully fall
Morning armor
Coffee makes me invincible. But when the cup is empty, I return to mere mortal.
