watching birds splash in
morning-after rain puddles
cleanses my spirit
Personal Journal
After all
Life is a perpetual give and take with the universe.
Counting up
First four decades time’s a hero
Then stops suddenly all the fun
Forty arrives a stranger new
But life is like a grand old tree
Strong yet flexible at the core
Roots ever deepen to stay alive
At this age there’s no real fix
Just patches is all, ’til heaven
Although it still be not too late
So let the autumn soul shine
Breathe and let thy life go zen
Mend it, dear Henry
Flawed past is history; flawed present is opportunity.
The next day
A relationship will eventually turn love inside out. And the test is whether you can love from both sides.
Petals & leaves
i love to
smell the flowers
and sniff the books
sitting in gardens
and library nooks
No, thanks
Don’t feel guilty about saying no to the nonessentials in life! —
simplicity is
saying yes to joy
by saying no to
overmuch
overwhelm
overdoing
overhaving
overbeing
Cozy inner child
Comfort is — buying an XL
flannel jacket for the winter
even though you’re only a medium
because it reminds you of your daddy —
and on that first chilly day
cold seeps in though the gaps —
but really you don’t much mind
because in your little girl memories
he’s keeping you safe and snuggly warm.
Westerly
sunset casts shadows
yet we see only colors
and glorious light
Blur
Aging is an exponential clock — ticking in runaway years.
Flow with life
You’ve got to keep moving to keep the beauty of life in perspective. If you hold still too long, things go blurry.
wørrier
You can never worry your way to enlightenment.
Heartwritten
Your prayer can be poetry, and poetry can be your prayer.
